Why NY Jets QB Zach Wilson is a winner in the eventual Aaron Rodgers trade

The organization’s management and the athlete are a condemnation of the NY Jets’ decision to obtain an experienced quarterback with a notable reputation shortly after selecting Zach Wilson as the second overall pick in the draft.

The Jets organization went all-in, pressuring Aaron Rodgers to leave his potential retirement and difficult retreat from the darkness by offering him an extremely sour and challenging opportunity in late 2022. Despite not liking it, he did not know that it would turn out this way.

The painful aspect was Wilson’s teammates making extensive efforts to implore Aaron Rodgers to join the Jets through social media platforms.

While Rodgers was waiting inside a darkened Jets’ home, his arrival was a gesture of goodwill as he set ablaze the cheesehead victory on YouTube. Gardner Sauce, the megastar quarterback and multiple-time MVP of the future Hall of Fame, was waiting for his call for dinner.

Wilson’s comments resurfaced, welcoming a challenge even more to ridicule. Rodgers’ public “simping” for Wilson led to him being mocked in social media circles. It also highlighted how his teammates and the entire Jets franchise were ridiculed.

The descent has occurred rapidly in a resolute manner. Wilson, who was once hailed as a franchise NFL quarterback, has now been relegated to the status of a college star. The manner in which the 2022 season unfolded for Wilson, along with the entire experience, must surely be a humbling one.

Wilson’s time as a starting quarterback in the NFL was rightfully considered over, even before the Jets entered the offseason, after just 22 career starts.

However, the argument can be made that the best thing that could have happened for Wilson’s career is the acquisition of Aaron Rodgers by the Jets.

Based on all the reports, it is evident how supportive Rodgers was of Love Jordan, despite the potential friction that was created upon Wilson’s arrival at Florham Park.

Even though Wilson is a member of the Jets, he is not only a starter but also a potential pickup by any other veteran quarterback. In particular, Rodgers could permanently replace him and take a step towards giving Wilson a new life.

The two have formed a bond over the past few years. Zach Wilson modeled his standout game after the MVP quarterback at BYU. It’s no secret that Aaron Rodgers is his idol.

Dreams do come true! I can’t tell you how many times @ZachWilson and I have watched Rogers on tv or studied his every movement on YouTube. Today he gets a chance to play against him. Parents if your child has a dream, embrace it. Sometimes dreams do come true. pic.twitter.com/wJlAMpNFMu

Who better to instruct Wilson on becoming a professional quarterback than the master himself? The Jets were in desperate need of a quarterback expert to guide Wilson and mitigate the impact of losing the highly esteemed Greg Knapp. Fortunately, all the discussions about this matter have concluded.

One of the most significant flaws against Wilson’s inability to succeed at the NFL level is his poor mechanics. Despite having a history of making unconventional plays, Rodgers will have to learn from his poor mechanics in order to succeed at the NFL level.

Especially outside of the designated platform, only a small number of players possess the ability to execute throws like he does. In terms of his throwing abilities and skill set, Zach Wilson is not a hopeless case, despite being just 23 years old.

There were plays in that game specifically late that showed the dynamic traits of the Jets’ scouting department and front office, with love back in the 2021 draft process. It was evident even in Wilson’s uneven performance against the Detroit Lions last season, where he threw for over 300 yards and scored two touchdowns in December.

PFF credited Zach Wilson with five “big time throws” against the Lions. Only six QBs have had five or more in a game this season, though it’s not exactly great company: Josh Allen (3x)Geno SmithJacoby BrissettMac JonesPJ WalkerCarson Wentz

“I didn’t respond, though,” Smith informed everyone, the current Pro Bowl quarterback and Comeback Player of the Year. However, the presently 32-year-old QB, the West Virginia standout, came incredibly close to being unsuccessful in the NFL completely. Geno Smith, a young Jets quarterback, at one point in time, was disregarded and abandoned, although such instances are uncommon.

More than twenty years ago, Kurt Warner achieved the same feat that Smith currently fulfills, acting as a source of motivation for all young quarterbacks who have faced adversity.

Wilson is currently the second-string quarterback for the Jets, pending the resolution of the standoff between the Jets and Packers, and the official arrival of Aaron Rodgers to Gang Green.

Throughout this offseason, Nathaniel Hackett has the opportunity to incorporate a seasoned quarterback, and the team additionally possesses the adored Chris Streveler on the roster.

Perhaps the former QB of the Jets, Joe Flacco, could bring another type of back for himself, such as Josh Johnson, who has working experience with the dons Hackett, Joe Douglas, or the white and green.

If Zach Wilson does become the Jets’ No. 2 quarterback in 2023, I believe there is no better place for him to develop and progress than his current position, especially after his role model expressed his desire to join the Jets.

It seems unfathomable today, but maybe Aaron Rodgers will step aside for Wilson in a couple of years when QB2 in 2023 is ready, knowing that he’ll need to get prepared and going.

One thing is sure — Zach Wilson has the right person in the quarterback room to help him take on that challenge.
