After drawing 0-0 with the USA, the Three Lions had a comfortable journey with an opening 6-2 victory against Iran.
A 3-0 victory over Wales on the last matchday got the job done, and booked a meeting with Senegal on December 4th.
The United States clinched the runner-up position, courtesy of Christian Pulisic’s goal against Iran in the final group game, trailing just behind the champions.
They will now encounter the Netherlands on December 3rd.
Group H, Group G, Group F, and Group E are part of the World Cup groups, followed by Group D, Group C, Group B, and Group A.

The standings in the group stage are based on points, where a loss earns none, a draw earns one, and a win earns three. The four teams are playing against each other in a round-robin format, facing three other nations in total.
If teams are also tied in those categories, another set of tiebreakers is implemented. The first tiebreaker, in case of teams being tied on points, is goals scored followed by goal difference. The top two teams from each group, based on total points, advance to the single-game knockouts.
Teams in Group B of the World Cup
England
In Qatar, England is set to secure their inaugural significant championship since 1966 and will be motivated to surpass their previous performance, having suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final on penalties and having advanced to the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup.
It’s now a question of whether they can get over the line, with a handful of experienced stars who possess significant tournament experience – not least the likes of Saka Bukayo and Bellingham Jude from Dortmund. Gareth Southgate has some very exciting young players at his disposal.
Following his challenges at the club level, Southgate will be optimistic that Harry Maguire, the defender from Manchester United, can regain his peak performance prior to the tournament. Harry Kane, who is expected to have the opportunity to surpass his country’s all-time leading goalscorer, will undoubtedly face intense scrutiny once more.
USA
The U.S. Will be joining the party at the 2022 World Cup, barely making it through regional qualifying with a slight goal difference against Costa Rica. This will be the 11th time that the U.S. Men’s national team has made it to this stage, having featured in the inaugural tournament in 1930 where they achieved their best result by reaching the semifinals.
Supporters should be excited by the potential for a successful World Cup campaign, as Gregg Berhalter’s side has enough young talent to make a deep run in the tournament and there is a chance for them to progress out of the group stage.
With their impressive tally of 21 goals during the qualification phase, the U.S. Will pose a genuine danger in the future, causing concern for opposing teams. In the offensive line, Gio Reyna from Borussia Dortmund will bring about an innovative burst of energy, while Christian Pulisic from Chelsea will be relied upon to assume the primary position.
Iran
Iran, with the ability to leave a significant impact, will participate in their third consecutive World Cup finals as the top-ranked national team from the Asian region.
South Korea also qualified as runners-up, edging out the team they defeated in their group to secure a top finish. They earned enough points to secure their spot in the final qualification round by winning eight matches and losing only one. They showcased an emphatic style of play, securing their qualification for the 2022 showpiece event.
He is currently in his second spell in charge, having taken them to the World Cups in 2014 and 2018. Carlos Querioz, the Portuguese tactician, was eventually replaced by the ex-Manchester United manager, but before that, he was reportedly re-hired and then fired in quick succession in July. Dragan Skocic led them through qualification, but the focus in the build-up has mostly been on their coaching unit. Iran has a strong attacking unit, with Sardar Azmoun as a threat up front for Bayer Leverkusen, Alireza Jahanbakhsh as a creator for Feyenoord, and Mehdi Taremi as a forward for Porto.
Wales
Ukraine eventually defeated Wales on 5 June to secure the playoff UEFA final berth, with appearance on the biggest stage.
Wales made it to the quarterfinals in their sole World Cup finals appearance in 1958, marking a significant milestone in their history.
Gareth Bale and Daniel James will heavily rely on their World Cup aspirations. Despite losing to eventual champions Portugal in the semifinals of Euro 2016, Robert Page’s team has consistently exceeded expectations in recent years.
