Given the animosity, the brewery company neglected to reach out to her, and she faced harassment. She addressed the contentious issue publicly for the first time on Thursday, discussing the criticism received from conservatives and the subsequent boycott of Bud Light as a result of the transgender influencer’s social media endorsement.

According to Ms. Mulvaney, activist Alejandra Caraballo, who fights for transgender rights, has been targeted with bomb and death threats. She also mentioned that she has faced personal attacks and stalking, which she shared on social media through videos. Ms. Mulvaney has been featured on Light Bud, a social media platform, since April.

Ms. Mulvaney, aged 26, expressed, “I have experienced being pursued, and I have endured an isolation that I wouldn’t desire for anyone.” “The occurrences depicted in that footage comprised of more harassment and discrimination towards transgender individuals than I could have ever envisioned.”

According to her, Bud Light has not contacted her during the entire controversy. Although the company did not support her, she was afraid to venture outside her house.

She expressed, “However, they never made an effort to contact me regarding the brand collaboration. Personally, I believe that it is even more detrimental for a company to support and then not publicly endorse the hiring of a transgender individual, rather than simply not hiring them at all.”

Following the boycotts, Anheuser-Busch, the producer of Bud Light, refrained from providing a comment on Thursday regarding any attempts made to reach out to Ms. Mulvaney.

A representative of the company mentioned in an email, “the utmost importance to us is consistently the privacy and security of our employees and our associates.” “Inclusive of those belonging to the LGBTQ+ community, various organizations in multiple communities have established initiatives and collaborations over many years,” as we have stated, we continue to be dedicated.”

Lawmakers in the Republican state have continued to propose legislation that seeks to regulate the lives of young transgender people and require parents to send their transgender students to specific schools. This legislation aims to give schools the authority to decide whether transgender students can use the bathrooms that align with their preferred pronouns, which has sparked controversy and debate over the laws passed by states that restrict medical care for transgender individuals, leading to a dispute between Light Bud and Ms. Mulvaney.

In the midst of March Madness, Bud Light backed a $15,000 contest that Ms. Mulvaney shared a video regarding on her Instagram profile, where she boasts a following of 1.8 million people, on April 1st. Additionally, she made note of the fact that the corporation had sent her a large can adorned with her own image to commemorate the one-year anniversary of openly documenting her journey of transition.

Propelled partially by individuals who had previously targeted the transgender community, demands for a boycott ensued. Among the most influential figures was the artist Kid Rock, who shared a video of himself firing at a pile of Bud Light crates.

The sales of Bud Light, the nation’s top-selling beer, have sharply declined. Two executives from the marketing company left since then. The company also stated that they would focus their marketing campaigns on music and sports. This month, Bud Light was dethroned as the top-selling beer. The brand is still struggling to win back customers.

Some members of the L.G.B.T.Q. Community have criticized Bud Light for its lukewarm reaction to the backlash.

Bud Light, a popular beer brand, faced criticism when country singer Garth Brooks mentioned at a music event that his new Nashville bar would offer a wide variety of beers. Retail giant Target adjusted its marketing strategy due to backlash against its support for L.G.B.T.Q. Communities, similar to Bud Light. While some companies have formed partnerships with transgender individuals, the conservative backlash has extended to other brands as well.

Ms. Mulvaney, who is popular on TikTok with 10.6 million followers, has documented her transition in a viral series called “Days of Girlhood.”

Ms. Mulvaney has addressed the hostility she has experienced without directly responding to the uproar. Amid the backlash, she has called herself an “easy target” in a podcast interview released on 11 April. She told her TikTok fans in April that she is struggling to understand the need to dehumanize and be cruel.

In the video on Thursday, Ms. Mulvaney called on companies to go beyond donations and promotional campaigns in supporting the L.G.B.T.Q. Community.

She expressed that backing transgender individuals should not be a subject of politics. “There ought to be nothing debatable or divisive about working together with us.”
