Lisa Marie Presley Wrote of Grief Over Son’s Death in Final Instagram Posts

Many are grieving the loss of Presley herself. Lisa Marie Presley wrote about her grief following the loss of her son nearly two years ago in her final messages on social media.

Presley’s most recent two Instagram posts were devoted to her son, Benjamin Keough, who sadly ended his life in 2020 at the age of 27.

In a single post, Presley displayed the coordinating tattoo she acquired with her son on a Mother’s Day.

She wrote, “We carefully picked it to represent our eternal bond and eternal love. It symbolizes that we will be eternally connected,” the Celtic knot of eternity. Several years ago, on Mother’s Day, my son and I got matching tattoos of these on our feet.

She concluded the post with an emoticon of a shattered heart.

In a few weeks, she shared on her Instagram post that the essay she wrote for People Magazine would eventually become her final essay.

Presley wrote in her essay released last August that she had been residing in the dreadful truth of its relentless clutches ever since her son’s passing two years ago.

She wrote, “I have somehow made it this far and in my lifetime, I have had more than my fair share of experiences that no one else has had. Since the age of 9, I have dealt with loss, grief, and death.”

“The essay carried on. ‘No. Absolutely not … No no no no …’? Instead, I would naturally worry about him, which actually made me scared. His levels of fear were so high, resembling those of his grandfather, who made me feel honored and privileged to be his mother every single day. It was the most incredible and sweetest privilege I had ever known, being the beautiful son of my beautiful mother. But this was the day of his death, the one that was the most heartbreaking.”

She was 54 years old when she passed away on Thursday after being hospitalized for a medical emergency. Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, was a singer-songwriter who dedicated her career to honoring her father’s legacy.

Priscilla’s daughter was rushed to the hospital after a medical episode, following a few hours after the paramedics arrived. Her mother confirmed her death in Los Angeles.

Priscilla Presley expressed in a statement, “I am filled with immense sadness as I must inform you of the heartbreaking news that my lovely daughter Lisa Marie has departed from this world.” “She was the utmost fervent, resilient, and affectionate woman I have ever encountered.”
