The immunosuppressive therapy requires that Rosalinda González be attended to for different health conditions including “terminal illness” and hypertension, for which a suspension was granted by the Ninth District Judge of Morelos state, on the past Friday, August 4th.
Her ailments require specialized medical personnel to respond to her request, so she reported it to the director of the women’s prison number 16 in Río del Coatlán, Morelos. The director, also known as “La Jefa,” is the wife of Mencho.
According to judicial sources consulted by La Vanguardia, “La Jefa” requires a special supply treatment brought from abroad every three months, and she has a delicate health condition.
The attorney defending the facilities had also responded to the request, as well as the director of the penal division, who had also reported the matter to the authorities.
The judge determined to partially dismiss the protection lawsuit filed in his scheduled constitutional hearing, which will take place on the next Monday, September 4th, without an embargo.
Last March, an Appeals Court denied Rosalinda González Valencia’s protection against justified preventive detention.
González Valencia requested a modification in the precautionary measures by asserting that he required distinct treatment because of the terminal disease he endures.
The defense argued, “The terminal illness, which requires suppressive therapy that must be provided in conditions of complete isolation in sterile areas and with constant surveillance.”
The defense of La Jefa challenged the decision before the courts, but that request was rejected, so the defense lawyer of González Valencia, Víctor Beltrán, was the one who requested the change of precautionary measure to the judge, according to the newspaper El Universal.
In November 2021, in Zapopan, Jalisco, members of the Mexican Army arrested the wife of “El Mencho”. Rosalinda González Valencia, allegedly, had not appeared before the court, so the arrest warrant, issued based on criminal case 127-2018, was executed by a Public Ministry. Apparently, she was on probation and had not shown up to sign in front of the appropriate authority.
The grandchildren who were accompanying him were also violated during the arrest. Furthermore, it was pointed out that the wife of the leader of the CJNG complained about the alleged mistreatment by the Army after the second detention.
Insight Crime group, as per Rosalinda González Valencia, is the niece of Armando Valencia Cornelio, also recognized as El Maradona, creator of the Cartel del Milenio in the 1990s, which supervised the growth of drugs within the boundaries of Michoacán and Jalisco.
