The Guardian and BBC reported that the 96-year-old queen was placed under medical observation on Thursday by her doctors in Balmoral. Some doctors are currently with the queen, while others are on their way. Additionally, members of the royal family are already present.
Buckingham Palace released a statement stating that after additional assessment today, the doctors of the Queen are worried about Her Majesty’s well-being and have advised that she continue to receive medical care.
The BBC reported that her situation in a noteworthy alteration is prompting her family members to plan a trip.
Elizabeth and her deceased spouse Prince Phillip had four children: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. Additionally, they have a total of eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The BBC reported that the Duchess of Cambridge stayed behind in Windsor with her husband, Prince William.
Duchess Meghan of Sussex, along with her husband Prince Harry and their two sons, stepped back from their royal duties in 2020. This summer, they traveled from their home in California to the UK for the first time since participating in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, marking the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
According to the BBC, Harry is currently heading towards Balmoral, while his spouse stays in London.
Sophie, the spouse of Edward, is also present in Balmoral, along with the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, and the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, the queen’s two most junior offspring.
Charles represented Elizabeth at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in late July, and in recent years there has been growing concern about the health of the longest-serving ruler in British history.
The Guardian reported that a reception ceremony was relocated indoors to accommodate her difficulties with mobility upon her arrival in Balmoral for her summer vacation. Elizabeth also did not attend the Braemar Gathering highland games earlier this month.
Before leaving office, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the queen in Balmoral this week, as did incoming Prime Minister Liz Truss.
According to The Guardian, a Privy Council gathering was delayed on Wednesday following doctors’ recommendation for the queen to take some rest.
