Debbie Reynolds was a renowned actress, vocalist, and performer who achieved celebrity status prior to becoming a mother to Carrie.
Frances Mary Reynolds was born in El Paso, Texas in 1932, and her film career began at MGM after she won a beauty contest at the age of 16.
In the 1952 film Singin’ in the Rain, she had already secured arguably her most renowned part – that of Gene Kelly’s companion – prior to reaching the age of 20.
Despite not having any dance experience, she was able to secure the role and demonstrated her ability to quickly grasp new skills.
The musical was a tremendous triumph and launched Debbie into stardom.
In 1955, she wedded accomplished popular artist Eddie Fisher – her initial of three spouses – and delivered Carrie the subsequent year.

What was the cause of Debbie Reynolds’ death?
Debbie Reynolds was quickly taken to the hospital after a 911 call was made around 1pm.
Prior to her passing, Carrie Fisher, the daughter of the iconic Star Wars figure, was removed from her son’s residence in Beverly Hills, where she had allegedly been present to engage in discussions about her funeral arrangements.
When she arrived at the hospital, her condition was described as “fair to serious”.
Reynolds is survived by her son Todd Fisher, who stated: “She is now reunited with Carrie.”.
“She stated, ‘I desire to be with Carrie,'” he supplemented. “And subsequently she disappeared.”
